Drawing inspiration from the emerging manga and anime movement in Japan, Master Sculptor Yasuhei Fujioka established a distinctive artistic style to the first Precious Moments figurines, in 1978.
職人技 - Artisan Quality
With their oversized heads, small bodies, and gentle expressions, Fujioka's Precious Moments figurines introduced the world to the first line of chibi (small) and kawaii (cute) collectibles. Every figurine was hand-sculpted, hand-painted, and created with precision.
伝統 - Passed from Master to Apprentice
Fujioka personally trained Hiko Maeda, who inherited the responsibility of preserving the artistic vision and craftsmanship. Maeda now Master Sculptor, ensures the techniques, attention to detail, and hand-finished artistry continue for a new generation of collectors.
